Financial Conflict of Interest Policy



All research conducted at ArchieMD shall be  in full compliance with all of the company’s policies and all applicable federal and state laws pertaining to conflicts of interest, including applicable rules and regulations of the United States government.


The design, conduct, and reporting of all research conducted at ArchieMD will be free from real or potential influence by any team member’s Significant Financial Interest that constitutes A Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI).  Prior to participating in any research activity, any ArchieMD personnel having a potential Significant Financial Interest shall disclose the details to the company’s president, who will determine whether the Significant Financial Interest constitutes a FCOI.  Disclosed Significant Financial Interests constituting FCOI will be assessed and managed in conformance with NIH Standards and all other applicable federal, state and Sponsor requirements. External to ArchieMD, reports to Sponsors regarding disclosed Significant Financial Interests constituting FCOI will be provided in conformance with Sponsor requirements and any applicable federal and State of Florida requirements.


ArchieMD will be promptly notify NIH, in accordance with its requirements, in the event that (1) bias is found in the design, conduct or reporting of Research; (2) a Researcher fails to comply with this policy; or, (3) a Management Plan appears to have biased the design, conduct, or reporting of the Research. ArchieMD will complete and document retrospective reviews within 90 days of a determination of noncompliance with the Policy. All FCOI-related records will be retained in conformance with 42 CFR 50.604(i) and state record retention laws.


Significant Financial Interest Defined:
A financial interest consisting of one or more of the following interests of the Researcher and those of the Researcher’s spouse and dependent children) that reasonably appears to be related to the researcher’s responsibilities at ArchieMD:


• A Significant Financial Interest exists if the value of any remuneration received from a third party in the twelve months preceding the disclosure the value of any equity interest in the third party as of the date of disclosure, when aggregated, exceeds $5,000. Remuneration includes salary and any payment for services not otherwise identified as salary (e.g., consulting fees,); equity interest includes any stock, stock option, or other ownership interest, as determined through reference to public prices or other reasonable measures of fair market value


• Travel costs that were paid on behalf of and not reimbursed to the researcher, that exceed $5,000 per individual and are related to the researcher’s responsibilities at ArchieMD.  Travel reimbursed as part of a sponsored research contract or grant is excluded.
